 | Bent Pitches Birmingham to Shutout Victory Monday, September 23rd, 2013: Keith Bent of Birmingham easily handled the Leningrad Communists, stopping them on 1 hit and chucking a complete-game 4-0 shutout. "He really did a job on us," said the Leningrad manager. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and pretty much confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us." Bent said, "Everything was working for me. Throwing my breaking stuff over the plate was big." He finished the game with 3 strikeouts and 1 walk in a solid outing. In 16 starts this season Bent has recorded a 4-5 record and a 5.64 ERA. |   |
