 | McFarland Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Friday, August 9th, 2013: On top of the Detroit hit parade today was Michael McFarland. He went to the plate 7 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Death Stars to a 20-3 victory over the Fort Worth Cats. The sweet swinging second baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Cats wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Michael McFarland singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Michael Ramsey in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season McFarland is batting .292 with 126 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 82 times and has 49 runs batted in. |   |
