 | Big 3-HR Day for Johnson Monday, August 5th, 2013: Going... Going... Gone! Lance Johnson did it three times in the Indian Wells 8-4 victory over the Birmingham Bobcats. Three home runs in one game! "I was in a groove," he said, "and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." Commenting after the game to the press, the elated Johnson explained, "I tell you what, I was so shocked because I didn't think the last ball had enough to get out. I thought it was just going to be a long out." For the day the Indian Wells right fielder went 3-4 against Birmingham with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting. Lance Johnson hit a solo-shot off Keith Bent in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Keith Bent in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Ben Jones in the 8th. |   |
