 | McGee on a Rampage, Hits for Cycle Friday, July 26th, 2013: It was a quite a day for Jake McGee at The Bell! He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is in a baseball game -- single, double, triple and a home run. The Detroit right fielder accomplished the rare feat during his team's 8-3 victory over the Philadelphia Freedom. He told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference, "I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it. The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it is the 4 hits and the win that are important. But I guess it will be nice to see my name in the record book." McGee went 4-4 in the game with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Jake McGee doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Bryan Green in the 7th and walked in the 9th. A look at his current stats shows McGee with a .311 average, 18 home runs, 53 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He has played in 74 games. |   |
