 | Warner on Fire: 5-6 for Coronado Friday, July 19th, 2013: It was a big day with the bat for Trevor Warner of the Coronado Phantoms at Phantoms Field as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Leningrad 8-5.
After the game he said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today. 5 hits in 6 tries. But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story."
At the end of the game Warner had collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Phantoms had won.
Trevor Warner singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Steve McAuley in the 10th.
Looking at his present stats, Warner has compiled a .284 batting average in 90 games with a .327 on-base percentage, while hitting 14 home runs and driving in 44 runs. | |
