 | López Rips Albuquerque for 5 Hits Monday, June 10th, 2013: It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Gustavo López -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and really shined on the diamond at Albuquerque Sports Stadium, but the performance lost a little glitter when the Bobcats were downed 6-4 by the Albuquerque Cacti. After his sparkling batting performance the Birmingham second baseman told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His batting theory paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too." Gustavo López doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ralph Thomas in the 7th, struck out in the 9th, struck out in the 11th and singled in the 14th. So far in 2013 López is batting .287 with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 71 hits in 247 at-bats and a .356 OBP. |   |
