 | Cook and Joyce Suspended 4 Games For Brawl Saturday, May 18th, 2013: When fights happen, suspensions are not far behind. That axiom was held to be true today when Billings's Chris Cook and Bronx's Mike Joyce were given a temporary vacation from the game, courtesy of the league commissioner's office.
They both were suspended for 4 games for their actions in a recent ruckus between the two teams. Both benches cleared when Cook charged Joyce.
Both players have accepted their fate and will begin serving their suspensions immediately. Neither would talk to reporters about the confrontation.
Currently Cook has no home runs and a .281 batting average.
To date this season Joyce sports a 1-1 mark with a 6.00 ERA in 2 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .282 batting average and has 12 strikeouts in 18 innings. | |
