 | League Issues Kennard 6-Game Suspension Wednesday, May 1st, 2013: Michael Kennard was incensed today after he was suspended by the commissioner's office for 6 games following a wild argument at the Acapulco-Fort Worth game. The league cited the Banditos right fielder for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct," in the notification letter. Kennard strongly objected to a questionable call by the home plate umpire and was ejected.
"Ejection? Maybe. But not suspension. It's ludicrous is what it is. It's totally uncalled for. I have no idea why. You have to ask the people in the league office that wear the coats and ties and don't get on the field. I didn't cause the altercation, the umpire did. It was a lousy call."
This year Kennard has socked 20 hits in 52 at-bats for a .385 average with 1 home run. He is getting on base at a .475 pace and his totals also include 7 RBIs and 16 runs scored. | |
