He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Simms of the New York Mafia did against the Greenville 84's. He went to the plate 7 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the 84's, who suffered a 12-10 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Dawson Simms singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th, walked in the 12th, singled in the 13th and singled in the 15th. Simms is batting .251 this year with 3 home runs, 23 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 63 hits in 251 at-bats. |   |
