 | Hot Bat Cooled, Smith Hitless Against Berserkers Saturday, August 4th, 2012: After 35 games, Dan Smith had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by Minnesota at The Frozen Tundra. The Toreros first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats and his brief fling with fame has come to a halt. But Smith seemed to care less -- it didn't matter as Cabo San Lucas took a 5-3 victory from the Berserkers. Smith didn't dwell on the streak saying, "It was good while it lasted. If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory." This year Smith is batting .340 with 19 home runs and 89 RBIs. In 105 games he has scored 79 times. |   |
