 | Roberto Clemente League Names Rookie of Month
Wednesday, August 1st, 2012: Youngster Steve Frend emerged as the latest Roberto Clemente League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Seattle deserved the honor, batting .383 with 9 home runs and 28 RBI. Is the month of July a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Frend enjoy the limelight.
In the current season, Frend has put up a .365 batting average with 129 hits, 25 home runs, 87 runs batted in and scored 108 runs.
