 | Marauders-Hornets Fight Nets 5-Game Suspensions Monday, July 23rd, 2012: When fights happen, suspensions are not far behind. That axiom was held to be true today when Maple's Frank Powers and Eureka's Nick Hawkins were given a temporary vacation from the game, courtesy of the league commissioner's office. They both were suspended for 5 games for their actions in a recent ruckus between the two teams. Both benches cleared when Powers charged Hawkins. Both players have accepted their fate and will begin serving their suspensions immediately. Neither would talk to reporters about the confrontation. To date, Powers has collected 129 hits for a .386 average. He has posted 14 home runs, scored 60 runs and driven in 43 runs. This season Hawkins has nailed down 2 saves with 40 strikeouts in 74.2 innings. He is credited with 5 wins and 3 losses and has a 2.05 earned run average. |   |
