 | Sanders Socks it to Jacks, Cracks 5 Hits Friday, July 20th, 2012: It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Artie Sanders got one today. He scattered hits all over Golden Gate Park to pace San Francisco to a 13-0 victory over Jacksonville. The Jacksonville skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Sanders hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Artie Sanders singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Raymond Lewis in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Sanders is hitting .282 so far this season with 48 RBIs and 57 runs scored. He has 87 hits including 16 home runs, 61 walks and .410 OBP. |   |
