 | Marauders Trade Gibson to Berserkers for Beimer Friday, July 6th, 2012: After prolonged negotiations Maple agreed to ship 17-year-old minor league right fielder Felipe García and 22-year-old third baseman Kevin Gibson to Minnesota for 34-year-old shortstop Derek Beimer. The deal is awaiting confirmation from the league office but neither team expects any hang-ups. "It took longer than expected," said one GM, "but we knew that the deal was going to happen." So far this season Gibson has hit .186 with no home runs, 12 RBIs and and scored 9 times. Beimer is batting at a .321 pace this season, picking up 42 hits in 131 at-bats with 7 home runs, 30 RBIs and 25 runs scored. |   |
