 | Watkins Goes on Rampage Against Bombers Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012: It was a big day with the bat for Bob Watkins of the Kansas City Tornadoes at Bomber Ballpark as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat South Carolina 8-4. After the game he said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today. 5 hits in 5 tries. But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story." At the end of the game Watkins had collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Tornadoes had won. Bob Watkins doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. Watkins is currently hitting at a .326 pace with 12 home runs and 42 RBIs. |   |
