 | More Injury Problems For Minnesota's Chip Render
Sunday, May 6th, 2012: Minnesota shortstop Chip Render reportedly suffered a setback this week while rehabilitating a torn ligament in his thumb. Preliminary tests showed the injury has gotten worse and would need more time to be completely healed. An unidentified team official said it looked like it would be at least 1-2 weeks before Render would be able to return to the active roster. Render will see a specialist tomorrow.
So far this year Render is batting .287 with 1 home run, 9 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
