 | Thurman Munson League Names Rookie of Month
Sunday, September 1st, 2013: Youngster Luis Castro emerged as the latest Thurman Munson League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Jersey deserved the honor, batting .333 with 5 home runs and 17 runs batted in. Is the month of August a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Castro enjoy the limelight.
Presently Castro is batting .314 with 49 hits and 6 home runs. He has knocked in 21 runs and scored 30 times.
