 | Peter Blanchard Selected August's Best Batter Sunday, September 1st, 2013: When Peter Blanchard stepped up to the plate in August, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Roberto Clemente League Batter of the Month award. The young Minnesota first baseman posted a .475 batting average with 11 home runs, 33 RBIs and scored 30 runs. Blanchard also worked pitchers for 11 walks to post a .527 on-base percentage. For the season Blanchard is currently batting .397 with 41 home runs and 124 RBIs. In 109 games he has reached base at a .461 rate and scored 105 runs to date. |   |
