 | Great Day for Fry, Hits for Cycle Thursday, August 29th, 2013: What do you get when you combine a good eye, some bat control, speed, and power? Well, if you add a little bit of luck and mix it all together, you get what Bob Fry of the New York Mafia had today at Don Corleone Park. He put together quite a performance at the plate and came away with the cycle, helping his team clip Carolina 9-6 and give the fans a memory they will never forget.
"This is the most amazing feat I've ever witnessed at a ballgame!" said a longtime New York fan. "I have probably been to several hundred games in my life and I've never seen anything like it."
For the day the Mafia shortstop had 4 hits in 4 at-bats with 3 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.
Fry etched his name into the record books by hitting a single, a double, a triple, and a home run, all in the same game. When asked after the game how it felt to join such an exclusive group, Fry replied, "It just feels great to help the team get the W."
Bob Fry tripled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Peter Barrett in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd and doubled in the 5th.
This season Fry is batting .307 with 28 RBIs, 53 runs scored and 1 home run. | |
