Tuesday, August 27th, 2013: The Minnesota Berserkers were dealt a severe blow when Bryan Gardner was hurt running the bases recently in a game against the Nottinghamshire Outlaws. After the game, the team trainer reported Gardner might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 28-year-old third baseman out for the rest of the season with a quad strain. They indicated it would take Gardner at least 6 weeks to heal.
This year Gardner is hitting .247 with 27 home runs and 75 RBIs in 121 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .344 with 66 walks and 88 runs scored.
