 | Salas on Fire, 5-5 Against San Diego Sunday, August 4th, 2013: Ramón Salas exploded for a barrage of base hits today at The Frozen Tundra. The Minnesota shortstop had a field day in the 15-2 triumph over the San Diego Hops, finishing with a 5-5 day and a spot in the league record book. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Salas must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Ramón Salas singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Mike Joyce in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. This season Salas is swinging the bat at a .350 rate with 43 hits in 123 at-bats. To date he has hit 8 home runs, scored 23 runs and driven in 26. |   |
