Thursday, August 1st, 2013: Reports have surfaced that Maple has agreed to send 31-year-old minor league reliever Ernie Kuhn and 19-year-old minor league first baseman Veton Zhugli to the Las Vegas Jokers in exchange for 28-year-old first baseman Vic Jennings, 28-year-old reliever Micheal Coleman and $2,500,000 in cash. "It's a done deal," said one executive speaking on the condition of anonymity. "I'm surprised word got around so quickly. We just signed off on this an hour ago." The deal apparently is awaiting physicals before an official announcement is made by either team.
In 2013 Jennings has hit at a .306 clip with 129 hits, 18 home runs, 69 RBIs and has scored 58 times.
