 | Dawson Criticizes Media After Unflattering Comments
Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013: Roger Dawson had a few choice words for the local media in an interview yesterday. The struggling reliever told a San Francisco beat reporter that his recent slump had been magnified by the local press and that the constant scrutiny was only affecting his game more. "You can old read so many negative comments in the paper and hear so much criticism on the radio before it starts getting to you," Dawson said. "How would you guys like it if I badmouthed everything you wrote? Just give me a break, already! It ain't gonna help me play any better, so why make the problem even worse?" After the comments were published, San Francisco manager Juan Rosado defended Dawson. "He reallly shouldn't even be paying attention to those kinds of things, but he has a point. Roger is his own harshest critic. He really doesn't need the media piling it on. There are things I and the other coaches can help him with, but ultimately it's something he's gonna need to work out for himself."
