 | Yánez Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Sunday, June 30th, 2013: New York could care less about Alfredo Yánez's hitting streak. All they care about is who won the game. The Mafia manager told BNN, "Not to belittle his streak, but at the end of the day, the important thing is winning the game, not stopping a hitting streak."
Well, the Mafia didn't stop Alfredo Yánez today, but they won the game 4-1 over the Republic. The So Cal left fielder was 1-for-4 in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. Alfredo Yánez grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th.
This season Yánez is batting .385 with 19 home runs. He has scored 57 runs and driven in 73. | |
