 | Sweet Parks 3 for Minnesota Friday, June 14th, 2013: Three home runs in a game doesn't happen often. When it does it is something special to celebrate. And Rich Sweet of Minnesota can celebrate it. He is now a member of the select group of players, who have hit three home runs in a single game. He powered three into the stands today at The Frozen Tundra against the Jersey Jesters. In all he was 3-3 as the Berserkers toppled Jersey 7-2, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 3 times. Sweet told reporters after the game, "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run. Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today I tried on the last one." His manager added, "He is blessed with a natural home run swing. He gets the ball up in the air." Rich Sweet hit a solo-shot off Jon Andrews in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jon Andrews in the 3rd, walked in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Jon Andrews in the 7th. In the current season, Sweet has put up a .287 batting average with 58 hits, 14 home runs, 47 RBI and scored 37 runs. |   |
