Friday, June 14th, 2013: Baseball can be a contact sport at times. It can exact a harsh toll on a player's body. In a recent game against Dallas Texans, Cardinals center fielder Javier Ramón was injured being hit by a pitch and is expected to miss 6-7 weeks with a fractured thumb. The team did not announce any roster moves today related to this injury. The Boston skipper told BNN that personnel decisions would be announced as early as tomorrow.
This year Ramón has collected a .323 batting average to date with 70 hits in 217 at-bats, 29 RBIs, 5 home runs and scored 47 times. He has played in 57 games.
