 | 5-6 Day for Fry Sunday, June 9th, 2013: After the New York 21-6 victory over Las Vegas and his 5-hit day second baseman Bob Fry told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special."
The 27-year-old player gained that distinction today at Lucky 7 Ballpark with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Las Vegas Jokers.
The skipper of the Mafia spoke glowingly of Fry, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Bob did that to perfection today."
Bob Fry singled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
So far this season, Fry has recorded a .355 batting average with 11 hits, no home runs, 6 RBIs, 7 runs scored and a .444 OBP. | |
