 | Super Swinger -- Hensley Slams 5 Hits Sunday, June 2nd, 2013: "It was like I was hitting little league pitching," said Jeffrey Hensley after his 5-hit performance against the Cardinals. "No offense meant to Boston, but it was like I was back in little league again. I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Staples Field @ The Rose Bowl."
The So Cal third baseman had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and pacing his club to a 6-4 victory.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Jeffrey worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."
"That's what I'm trying to do," Hensley said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Jeffrey Hensley singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off John James in the 11th.
So far this year Hensley is hitting .398 with 9 home runs. | |
