 | Hit Parade: Almonte Pops 5 Hits Wednesday, May 29th, 2013: It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Tonito Almonte -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Michigan & Trumball and paced the Hornets to a 19-7 win over the Washington Capitalists. After his dynamite batting performance the Eureka second baseman told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Tonito Almonte singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
