 | Machado Gets 5 Hits Sunday, May 26th, 2013: It wasn't poetic justice. Raśl Machado of the Jacks had a terrific 5-hit game today, really socking it to the Georgia Ghost Busters, but his team didn't win the game. In the clubhouse after the 14-13 loss, he moaned to the press, "Hey, I don't want to sound ungrateful, but something is missing here. When you have a great game you should win the game, too." And he definitely had an unforgettable day in the batter's box, ripping out 5 hits in 6 at-bats. The manager for the Jacks sympathized with his first baseman and told BNN reporters after the game, "Raśl played a whale of a game, but sometimes individual brilliance is not enough to win... baseball is a team sport... it takes more than just one player to win a game." Raśl Machado struck out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and doubled in the 11th. So far this year Machado is batting .326 with 6 home runs. |   |
