Friday, June 8th, 2012: Earlier today, Grand Haven reliever Ray Gardner had to leave the game against New York because of an injury. Team officials are reporting that he has a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and will miss 8-9 months of play. Gardner was hurt throwing a pitch and was unable to continue playing. He will be evaluated this afternoon by team physicians.
Gardner has 1 save this season with a won-lost record of 3-1 and 2.37 ERA.
